OSETC REP ATTENDS THE 8th SESSION OF THE WORKING GROUP ON INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AND THE 10th SESSION OF THE WORKING GROUP ON GOVERNMENT EXPERTS ON TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

The Office of the Special Envoy on Transnational Crime (OSETC) attended the “8th Session of the Working Group on International Cooperation and the 10th Session of the Working Group on Government Experts on Technical Assistance” on 09 – 13 October 2017 at Vienna, Austria.
The said sessions were attended by representatives of State Parties under the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime whom were mostly from the prosecution sector. The Philippine delegation was composed of H.E Maria Zeneida Angara Collinson, Ambassador and Permanent Representative Philippine Permanent Mission in Vienna, Mr. Sulpicio M. Confiado, Deputy Permanent Representative, Permanent Mission in Vienna, Ms. Juvy R. Manwong Assistant Secretary Department of Justice, Ms. Janina Lourdes S. Bustos, Third Secretary and Alternate Representative Philippine Permanent Mission in Vienna, Ms. Cristine Cia B. Clasara-Steylaerts, Attaché and Adviser Philippine Permanent Mission in Vienna, and Mr. Angelo A. de Leon, Desk Officer from the Office of the Special Envoy on Transnational Crime (OSETC).
The five-day event highlighted various experiences on the following points per adoption and utilization of the UNTOC PROTOCOLS THERETO document as basis for their domestic legal framework, transfer of criminal proceedings as a form of international cooperation in criminal matters and extradition via electronic means and other pertinent matters. Series of meetings have been declared for said updates.
