OSETC REP ATTENDS THE TRAINING OF TRAINORS ON PREVENTING AND COUNTERING VIOLENT EXTREMISM

The Office of the Special Envoy on Transnational Crime (OSETC) attended a three-day “Training of Trainors on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism” which was held on 27 – 29 November 2017 at BSA Twin Tower Hotel, Julia Vargas corner Bank Drive, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City.
The said training was sponsored by the Department of Interior Local Government (DILG) in partnership with the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC) and attended by representatives from various government agencies particularly from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Central and Regional Offices. The Office of the Special Envoy on Transnational Crime (OSETC) was represented by the Special Envoy himself, Ambassador Anselmo Simeon P Pinili, who delivered the opening remarks during the first day; he was joined by OSETC Head Administration Services PSUPT Elizabeth D Jasmin and Mr. Angelo A. de Leon, OSETC Desk Officer.
The purpose of the training was to pave the way for the MASA MASID’s policies, mandates, and implementation strategy in preventing violent extremism to respond to the current security threats. The seminar was intended to target would be trainors with the end view of them to be responsible in cascading MASA MASID’s programs, projects and activities (PPAs) to lower units of their respective agencies.
