Together with other representatives from both the public and private sector, including government officials and members of the academe, The Office of the Special Envoy on Transnational Crime represented by Cedric M Miguel, Desk Officer, participated in the PiliPINASCon 2018: Forum on Cyber Security & the Internet of Things hosted by Global Chamber Manila held on 31 January 2018 at the Enderun Colleges in McKinley Hill, Taguig.
Topping the roster of speakers was web expert Marc Goodman, author of the best-selling book “Future Crimes”, founder of Future Crimes Institute and Chair of Policy, Law and Ethics at Silicon Valley’s Singularity University. Goodman tackled the gifts and curses of technological advancement of the cyber world; on how the internet provides people vast array of instant information and inter-connectivity while also being used as an instrument of organized criminals. Goodman also shared recommendations on how to avoid online digital threats.
