ARMS TRADE TREATY VOLUNTARY TRUST FUND PROJECT: 15-DAY TRAINING COURSE ON LICENSING, INVESTIGATION, AND ENFORCEMENT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES IN RELATION TO THE ARMS TRADE TREATY

The Office of the Special Envoy on Transnational Crime, together with Nonviolence International, organized the first “Training Course on Licensing, Investigation and Enforcement Policies and Procedures in Relation to the Arms Trade Treaty” last 5 - 19 February 2018 at the Microtel by Wyndham – UP Technohub, Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City.
The training course gathered local and international experts with the aim of bringing together the different implementing agencies to work together towards the professionalization of government personnel on the various aspects of regulating the flow of arms, with the hope of drawing in best practices from the resource speakers and from each other.
It is attended by 29 participants; all of them are government officials from front line agencies, to wit: Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Navy, Department of National Defense, Department of Justice, Bureau of Customs, Philippine Center Transnational Crime, Office of the Special Envoy on Transnational Crime, Office of Transportation Security, Philippine Economic Zone Authority, National Defense College of the Philippines, Philippine Public Safety College, National Bureau of Investigation, Department of Trade and Industry – Strategic Trade Management Office, and Anti-Terrorism Council – Program Management Center.
