osetc joins in the KNOWLEDGE SHARING EXERCISE ON CYBERSECURITY IN THE WORKPLACE

The Office of the Special Envoy on Transnational Crime (OSETC) represented by Mr. Josua G Mariano and Mr. Gene N. Gesite Jr, Desk Officers, attended Knowledge Sharing Exercise on Cybersecurity in the Workplace at Mabini Social Hall, Malacañan Palace Manila City on February 16, 2017. It was participated in by the following government agency-representatives, to wit:

 

a.      All Office of the President (OP)-proper offices and major unit;  and

b.     Office of the Special Envoy on Transnational Crime (OSETC) 

 

 

 

The purpose of the meeting was to educate and inform the participants on Cybercrime threats, securities. The talking points of the one day workshop were as follows:

      Cybersecurity measures through the Zimbra e-mailing platform;

      The National Cybersecurity Plan; and

      Common identified cybercrimes in NBI

 

To address these issues, certain recommendations were made relative to the issues presented from the concluded activity. Mr. Patrick B. Reidenbach, Ms. Genelyn B. Macalinao and Mr. Francis Señora, the resource speakers, emphasized that initial steps to counter cybercrime is through workshop/ seminar sessions to the masses, especially web users (netizens).
