DRAFTING OF THE NATIONAL ACTION PLAN (NAP) TO COMBAT ILLICIT PROLIFERATION OF SMALL ARMS AND LIGHT WEAPONS (SALW) COMMENCES

The Office of the Special Envoy on Transnational Crime (OSETC) hosted a Consultative Meeting for the Drafting of a National Action Plan (NAP) for the United Nations Programme of Action (UN PoA) on Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW), held at the OSETC Conference Room, 4th Floor, PCTC Building, Camp Crame, Quezon City last April 20, 2017.

 

The primary purpose of the consultative meeting is to develop a NAP that will rationalize and facilitate the implementation of the UN PoA on SALW, particularly in preventing, combatting and eradicating its illicit trade.

 

It was participated in by selected personnel from the different concerned agencies, namely: a. Bureau of Customs (BOC); b. Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA); c. Department of Trade and Industry–Strategic Trade Management Office (DTI-STMO); d. Philippine Coast Guard (PCG); e. Philippine National Police – Firearms and Explosives Office (PNP-FEO); and f. Philippine National Police – Directorate for Plans (PNP-DPL).
