2nd CONSULTATIVE MEETING: DRAFTING OF THE NATIONAL ACTION PLAN (NAP) TO COMBAT ILLICIT PROLIFERATION OF SMALL ARMS AND LIGHT WEAPONS (SALW)

The Office of the Special Envoy on Transnational Crime (OSETC) hosted the Second Consultative Meeting for the Drafting of a National Action Plan (NAP) for the United Nations Programme of Action (UN PoA) on Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW), held at the OSETC Conference Room, 4th Floor, PCTC Building, Camp Crame, Quezon City last May 9, 2017.
The primary purpose of the consultative meeting was to present the consolidated draft of the NAP that will rationalize and facilitate the implementation of the UN PoA on SALW, particularly in preventing, combatting and eradicating its illicit trade.
It was participated in by selected personnel from the different concerned agencies, namely: a. Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP); b. Bureau of Customs (BOC); c. Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA); d. Department of National Defense (DND); e. Department of Trade and Industry–Strategic Trade Management Office (DTI-STMO); f. National Bureau of Investigation (NBI); g. Philippine Center on Transnational Crime (PCTC); h. Philippine Coast Guard (PCG); i. Philippine National Police – Firearms and Explosives Office (PNP-FEO);j. Philippine National Police – Directorate for Plans (PNP-DPL); and k. Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP).
