AMBASSADOR ANSELMO SIMEON P PINILI, Special Envoy on Transnational Crime headed the Philippine delegation together with Undersecretary Allan Guisihan, Executive Director, Philippine Center on Transnational Crime and PSINSP Virgilio Ramirez, Chief, Office of Integrated Operations, Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission, attended the “26th Session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice of the United Nations on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)” at the Vienna International Centre, Wargramer Strasse, Vienna, Austria on May 22-26, 2017.
The convention was attended by hundreds of delegates from different member states and civil society groups. A series of resolutions were agreed in preparation for the 2020 Crime Congress in Japan, to promote the implementation of the Doha Declaration and to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through thematic discussions. Numerous side events were also held during the five-day meeting.
The Special Envoy as head of the Philippine delegation delivered the Philippine Government’s stand about human rights, illegal drugs, crime, terrorism, and rule of law. He further shared the commitment of the current administration aspirations for positive change and reform, ensure protection of human rights and welfare of all Filipinos.
