Final Consultative Meeting: Drafting of the National Action Plan (NAP) to Combat Illicit Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW)

The Office of the Special Envoy on Transnational Crime (OSETC) hosted the Final Consultative Meeting for the Drafting of a National Action Plan (NAP) for the United Nations Programme of Action (UN PoA) on Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW), held at the OSETC Conference Room, 4th Floor, PCTC Building, Camp Crame, Quezon City last 18 July 2017.

The primary purpose of the consultative meeting is to present the final consolidated draft of the NAP that will rationalize and facilitate the implementation of the UN PoA on SALW, particularly in preventing, combatting and eradicating its illicit trade.


It was participated in by the permanent representatives from the different concerned agencies, namely: a. Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP); b. Bureau of Customs (BOC); c. Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA); d. Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) e. Department of National Defense (DND); f. Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD); g. Department of Trade and Industry–Strategic Trade Management Office (DTI-STMO); h. Department of Justice (DOJ); i. National Bureau of Investigation (NBI); j. National Coast Watch Center (NCWC); k. Philippine Center on Transnational Crime (PCTC); l. Philippine Coast Guard (PCG); m. Philippine National Police – Firearms and Explosives Office (PNP-FEO); n. Philippine National Police – Directorate for Plans (PNP-DPL); and o. Philippine Ports Authority (PPA).
